Welcome 2009 Is Here! A slew of smallies on Memorial Day makes the Croix the Croix.  Fishing virtually unpressured water is relaxing, but catching 35 bronzebacks and a few pike gets the heart rate up!  Big bronzie was 17” and average was 13”.  Not huge sizes, but the quantity is nice for 5-6 hours of fishing. Fishing the Wisconsin opener on May 2 and 3 we managed to hit five lakes!  With two failing to reach potential we were happy with the other three.  A slew of smallies between 15” and 19” along with nice largies and two good pike made for a successful opener.  Pictures on facebook. St Croix River St Croix River - South of Taylors Falls (Hwy 8 Bridge) We regret to inform all interested parties, but we will no longer be guiding on the St. Croix River south of Taylors Falls / St. Croix Falls.  With new regulations by the USCG and TSA, we have opted to forgo the time and expenses in order to be legally guiding on the Croix. If smallies are your thing, there are many great lakes inside the metro and outside that do very well (i.e. Minnetonka, Mille Lacs, Green [Spicer], and a slew of smaller lakes in northern Minnesota and Wisconsin).  We apologize for the inconvenience; especially to those of you who bought a “Silent Auction” from one of our supported organizations.
